A
warm and sentimental portrait of 1950s youth in Poland
- shot using footage from the spaces of actual theatre
troupes "Bim Bom" and "Co To" -
this film follows Jacek, the leader of a theatre group
who falls for the daughter of a French diplomat, Marguerite.
A hopeless romantic, Jacek wants nothing more than for
the two to be together. Marguerite however is more sensible
and has difficulties imagining what type of life she
would lead as the wife of an actor. Ultimately, the
two part, but not before Jacek uses his heartbreak as
fodder for his theatre company's next production.
