Beata
and Bartek are a young middle-class couple who barely
make a living while taking care of their two sons. In
an effort to improve their living conditions, Bartek
invests in a good looking new apartment development
in Warsaw. But all their plans fall apart when the construction
company files for bankruptcy before the building is
completed. The couple, already indebted to Bartek's
mother, can't do anything but moving into her small
apartment. They desperately look for ways to earn back
the lost funds and fulfill their dreams, with no immediate
success. Personal hostilities within the family come
to a critical point as three generations collide. The
family is unable to survive, and a tragedy seems imminent.
