The
first half of the 13-th century. Young prince Aleksandr,
a ruler of Republic of Novogrod, has to hold out against
two enemies. He discovers that some boyars are plotting
against him and are ready to betray Novgorod to the
Swedes and the Germans to boost their trade. Meanwhile,
his best friend falls under suspicion, as somebody tries
to poison the young prince at his own wedding feast.
IGOR
KALENOV
Igor Kalenov was born in Leningrad in 1967. From 1989
to 1992 he worked at the Leningrad Studio of Documentary
Films as an assistant to the positions of film director,
editor, deputy chief editor responsible for international
relations, and the commercial director. In 1991 he founded
"Nikola-film" studio while still working at
the Leningrad Studio of Documentary Films. The head
of the film studio as well as the producer of all films
made at "Nikola-film." He was a producer of
the TV program The Film Line (ORT, 1996-1999). A senior
lecturer of film directing department in St. Petersburg
University of Cinematography and TV (since 2003). A
Member of the Russian Cinema Academy "Nika"
(from 2004).
