A
story of two Polish generations: contemporary students
and their parents. They cannot come to an agreement,
emotional void stands between. They disagree also in
their judgments of history and their moral dilemmas.
Bartek is a student who earns his living by writing
master's theses. Moral perplexities are absent form
his life. One day from a train's compartment Bartek
sits in, a passenger disappears leaving his coat and
a briefcase. When Bartek hears a cell phone ringing
in the coat's side pocket, he does not hesitate to answer
it. From now his life changes. He sets off for a long
journey to solve the secret of mysterious man and to
find answers for important questions.
JERZY
STUHR
Born in 1947 in Krakow. Graduated from Polish Philology
at the Jagiellonian University and from the Academy
of Drama in Krakow (PWST). Actor, theatre and film director,
educator. Since 1971 actor of Stary Teatr in Krakow.
He collaborated with Konrad Swiniarski, Jerzy Jarocki,
Jerzy Grzegorzewski, Andrzej Wajda. Starred in films
directed by Agnieszka Holland, Krzysztof Kieslowski,
Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Zanussi, Feliks Falk and Juliusz
Machulski. Since the 80's he plays in Italian plays
and films. A rector and proffesor in the Academy of
Drama in Krakow. Recipient of numerous awards for achievements
as actor and theater director, including Nastro d'Argento
'98 for Best European Artist awarded by Italian Film
Journalists Syndicate, Emerging Master Award '01 at
the Seattle Festival and Polish Super Victor '01. In
1992 he published his autobiography "Diseases of
the Heart, or My Life in Arts". Since 1998 a member
of the European Film Academy.
