Roma
Ndolo, was born in Germany, to a Polish mother and a
Kenyan father. She decides to visit Kenya to find out
about the African roots of Barack Obama and her own.
In the meantime, during the Democratic National Convention
in Denver, the politician receives his party's official
nomination to run for President of the United States.
Roma travels across Kenya witnessing the great euphoria
among Kenyans, especially members of the Luo tribe that
Obama and she herself descend from. The documentary
portrays Obama as a regular man, who has become successful
only thanks to his hard work and determination. It also
shows Roma in her quest to finding out about her Kenyan
origin.
TOMASZ
MAGIERSKI
Born in 1960 in Nowy Targ. Documentary film director,
cinematographer. He graduated in cinematography from
the Lodz Film School. He has directed a number of documentaries,
several of which were focused on issues of social justice.
The most notable one is "The Magic Brothers"
on life under Communism, seen through the eyes of four
brothers born in Poland in 1954. Other docs include:
"Pianists, Defining Chopin", "White Orchid
Dreams", "Olympics of Kusy", "Ferry
93", "Monte Cassino 44", "Border."
Worked as a Director of Photography in numerous feature
and documentary
films, made out of Poland.
