Sergei Bodrov has fulfilled a long-time dream in bringing the heart-wrenching story of one of the great rulers of the Mongol Dynasty to the screen. An epic story that recounts the early life of Genghis Khan, born as Temudjin in 1162. It follows Temudgin from his childhood, spent in a slavery, to the battle that sealed his destiny. The film paints a multidimentional portrait of the future conqueror, revealing him not as a brute of hoary stereotype, but as an inspiring, fearless, and visionary leader.
