A
film about a Polish statesman, diplomat and military
officer Jozef Beck and his life in Romania where he
was interned by the authorities during the Second World
War. Dismal conditions of a village, where he lives
along with his second wife and a daughter, eventually
lead to his death. Jozef Beck's son, Andrzej, presents
some of his father's belongings and then recalls the
story of his interned father.
BOZENA
GARUS-HOCKUBA
Film director and producer of documentary films. Graduated
from the French Literature at the Jagiellonian University
(1977) and Film Directing in the Film & TV School
at the University of Silesia in Katowice (1983). Received
her post-graduate diploma from the Departement des Civilisations,
Central European University of Nancy, France (1982).
She has made a number of awarded documentary films for
Polish TV, including acclaimed "Lilpop Sisters
and Their Passions" (Siostry Lilpop i ich milosci,
2005), "I Need To Have Different Dreams" (Musze
miec inne marzenia, 2003), "Preface To Silence"
(Przedmowa do ciszy, 2000).
