Polish
Film Institute Annual Award to The Society for Arts
for The Polish Film Festival in America
We
are delighted to relay some terrific news about
the first Polish Film Institute Annual Award for
a promotion of Polish cinema abroad given to the
Polish Film Festival in America. The presentation
of that award took place at the gala in Warsaw's
"Golden Terraces." Christopher Kamyszew,
the festival's founder, accepted the award on behalf
of the PFFA.

We
share this prestigious award with the festival's
collaborators, its numerous friends in the Polish
film community who generously offer their time to
meet our audience, its sponsors whose support makes
it possible to further develop the event, and last
but not least with the festival public whose participation
and interest give the ambitious undertaking a sense
and significance.
In
the past, the festival's organizers were honored
with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic
of Poland Award, "Laterna Magica" Award
of the Chairman of Polish Committee of Cinema, Copernican
Award and other respected prizes.
This
year, the Polish Film Festival in America, the world's
largest annual event beyond Poland, celebrates its
20th edition. The festival will take place from
November 8th to 23rd in a number of the Chicagoland
locations, enhanced by many special events, concerts
and exhibits. The Celebration Gala will be held
in Harris Theatre in Millennium Park on November
9th. Numerous celebrities of Polish film are expected
to attend.
