Polish Film Festival in America Announces Locations
Saturday, November 8 - Sunday, November 23, 2008

The Polish film Festival in America (PFFA) announced that screenings for the 2008 Anniversary 20th PFFA edition will be held at seven well-appointed cultural venues in the Chicagoland.

The Opening Night Screening is scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 7:00 pm. in the city's most modern cinema AMC River East 21 (322 E. Illinois Street). Due to the very limited capacity of that cinema, another Popular Opening Night Screening will take place the same evening, 8:00 pm. in Pickwick Theatre (5 S. Prospect Ave., Park Ridge).
This new addition to the PFFA venue line-up is located in the suburb which became a new concentration of Polish community in the Chicago area. The landmark movie house was built in 1928 in Art Deco style and remains one of the most spectacular theatres in the state. Pickwick offers free ample parking in downtown of Park Ridge.

The Opening Reception will start at 5:00 pm. on Saturday, November 8th, and will be hosted at prestigious Kimball Office (325 N. Wells Ave.) by Merchandise Mart. Following the Opening Screening, the CineBlues Night Party featuring the world's best blues musicians will start at 10:00 pm. at the Society for Arts (1112 N. Milwaukee Ave.).
Free shuttle buses will be available for the festival patrons between Kimball Office, AMC 21, and the Society for Arts.

Regular PFFA screenings will be held in the Copernicus Theatre (5216 W. Lawrence Ave.), the festival's home from its very beginning, Facets Cinematheque (1517 W. Fullerton Ave.), known for its splendid foreign film promotion, in Beverly Arts Center (2407 W. 111th Street) located at the city's South Side, and the Skokie Theatre (7924 Lincoln Ave., Skokie), a new PFFA venue, which also offers free parking.

The Festival's host theatre and primary location for screenings of documentary films is the Society for Arts' Gallery Theatre (1112 N. Milwaukee Ave.). The elegant digital Gallery Theatre with a new surround sound system is minutes away from downtown Chicago and it is central to every PFFA event. The theatre is a cult cinema of docsPace program, showcasing the world's best documentary films. The luxury, 75-seat auditorium is located inside an art gallery, which also features a cafe and reserved parking.

A Concert Gala "Night Rider Rock Symphony" featuring classical and film music pieces and the most popular themes in a heavy rock manner, which will be performed by the Night Rider rock band and philharmonic orchestra with choir, promises to be an unprecedented artistic event. The two hour concert will take place in Chicago's most prestigious Harris Theatre for Music and Dance located in Millennium Park on Sunday, November 9th at 6:00 pm.

Tickets, passes and invitations will be on sale soon. A complete program and a listing of the PFFA Official Guests will be announced one month prior to the Festival.
