There are two protagonists: 12-year-old boy whose faith in God has been put to the test, and a 35-year-old man, who tries to get closer to God. The boy practices long distance running, the man is a coach at the promary school. They live in a small Pomeranian town. They set out on a pilgrimage to the Jasna Gora Monastery. For both of them the trip turns out to be a great oportunity to challenge their backbones.
