Wilkomirska, now an eigthy-year-old, one of the best
Polish classic violin players, whose Szymanowski's interpretations
could be heard in world's most prestigious philharmonic
halls, talks about her career and love of the violin.
The violin that she had begun to study under her father's
instruction as a child, which was stopped by the WWII,
and which she had auctioned out in New York because
her silence should not mean its silence. She had dared
to call Penderewski's compositions "electrocardiograms"
and she also was able to refuse an invite to play at
the New York Philharmony because she had had already
planned a concert in Bedzin, Poland.
