The
traveling circus of legend with stars as bright as the
sun belongs to a bygone era. Today the historic streets
and market squares of Europe pulsate with the magic
of circus theater. With the fall of the Berlin Wall,
a generation of East Europeans headed west and discovered
the allure of street theater. Inspired by the artistic
feats and social involvement of their West European
counterparts, they are now bringing their newly-found
skills and lifestyles home. They teach circus to the
disabled and disadvantaged, and travel in "magic
caravans" to perform for refugees and the rural
poor. The film is a portrait of one such Polish group
who, with the help of some friends, is bringing circus
theater home to Poland.
